Come Away With Me – Norah Jones (come away with me, © 2002)

Someone left this CD in the computer lab early in the summer & I borrowed it out of the lost & found.  What an incredible young talent & she even wrote this song.  I love this CD!

…and I want to walk with you on a cloudy day…
…while I’m safe there in your arms…

This is about the point where the notes really tapered off and got left unfinished.

I do still love this CD.  It is MUCH better than her 2nd one.  I’m not sure what the difference is between them but the sophomore effort doesn’t hold a candle to her debut.

Again, by this point we’ve moved fully into the concept spawned by the off-hand comment and have left the initial purpose as a means of introduction far behind.

Hmmm. I wonder how often the first album becomes the best? I’ve never thought anything the Indigo Girls did afterwards came close to their first, which is still one of my favorites, despite the thousands of times I’ve heard it since about 1987.

Better than a massage, huh? That’s some hug! :)

Sometimes we need more than just physical touch.

Maybe if it was a massage from someone I really cared about it would be better than a hug, but since I’m paying for it…. She is a nice woman but there is certainly no intellectual connection, and even little personal connection.

A hug from a friend is far better! [I was going to say a free hug, but man, I don't even want to think about that kind of prostitution. Paying for a massage is one thing, but for a hug?!]

Though there certainly are degrees of hugs, some clearly worth much more than others…again, it depends on the giver and receiver.
