This morning I did original cataloging of my 1st serial. In hand I had 7 weekly issues of a Spanish women’s magazine; not sure if we’ll get any more of them.
It wasn’t as bad as I expected and the subject heading and class number were quite easy. Not to imply that women are easy to classify! But it really was just Women–Periodicals.
After I had a fortifying lunch of turkey and shrimp pad thai at the Y! Thai, I started on 6 annuals and a supplement of a French entomology society’s annual revue. This one’ll be a bit trickier because I also have the next 2 years of the annual, but will need a new record for them due to a major title change.
Also the classification and subject headings will probably be trickier. I haven’t exactly settled on the scope of this annual yet. I don’t think it is restricted to France. And not to suggest that bugs are harder than women, but there are a lot more of them!
Ah well, that’s for tomorrow morning. After that who knows? Actually, I have to do some training with one of the serials catalogers on holdings first thing in the morning. Hopefully I’ll get to finish the 1st title of my French bug annuals tomorrow, though.
For now, I’m stepping away from both of these computers and trying to relax as it’s almost bedtime. Been a heck of a day, with most of the explicitly bad all in the evening. Not going to recount it though, as I need to calm down.
Here’s to a better tomorrow or, at least, solving some of today’s problems.

Ooh, which entomology mag is it? Is it written in French or in English? I’ve pub’d in Naturwissenschaften which, despite its title, is in English.

Hey there ranger. I ended up working on holdings records for my entire 3 hours today, so I’ll have to let you know tomorrow (or later). It is in French, which is what’ll make the subject analysis a bit more tricky (for me).
Wow! You become a bit more impressive every day. Which is not to say that I wasn’t impressed when I first met you.
