All set (I think), and I will not be sick

November 4th, 2006 · 5 Comments

I think I’m ready for my trip to ASIS&T. I made a list and checked it thrice. All that’s left is second breakfast, a shower, dressing and heading for the airport.

I sure hope I’m not forgetting anything important! I don’t travel much so it’s hard to have it down to a routine. Plus, I’ll be dressing a bit nicer than I do on a normal day and that adds a layer of complexity.

I started feeling pretty crappy last night and ended up taking some Nyquil before bed.  I’m still feeling a bit off this morning. I’m hoping it was something I ate and that this morning’s sluggishness is due to the Nyquil. “I will not be sick. I will not be sick. …”

See you in Austin!  Or not.

You will not be sick. There, that should help.

Have a great trip and don’t even consider the possibility of being sick. Either way, I know you’ll have a great time. :)

You’re not sick… you’re not sick… you’re not sick. (Here’s hoping that my mantra, added to yours and Jenn’s and Meredith’s, will make you feel better NOW.)

Learn a lot and blog what you learn so I can learn it too!

Thank you so much Jenn, Meredith and Iris! I do feel a bit better but I’m not sure how a day of traveling and hanging out in airports will impact me.

3 oz. of water or less! WTF! Does anyone even make a 3 oz. bottle of water?

I do have to say that having University wireless at the Champaign airport is awesome! Although I best be rationing my battery power. That is the weakest piece of my PowerBook. The battery life sucks and even with a new battery it is no better. It does seem to run a little less hot though.

WHAT?! Is 3 oz the maximum that you can carry on a plane now? That’s less than half a cup of water! That’s barely enough to swallow my terrorist pills with.

Yep, definitely a glass half-empty gal here.
