Looks like the blog may have survived the upgrade

Let me know if anything seems wrong, doesn’t work, etc. I tested the contact form and it’s working. I can see the blog and it looks OK to me in FF on a Mac.

    Things look really good on my end… I use Firefox and Flock. I’ll also fill out the comments.

    Have noted talk of the upgrade and disasters so I am nervous, but I know I need to do it (then again I thought I got the newest version when I started… but maybe not). Other than being sure to save all files first, any words of wisdom for the upgrade? Anything new things you’ve noticed? Looking forward to hearing more.

    You probably did get the newest version, but they have committed to a much faster upgrade cycle. Still, this is just a small upgrade, 2.1 to 2.1.1.

    This upgrade *is* different from previous ones. Since some file names changed you have to delete most (NOT all) of your files from the server and then stick the new ones up.

    Following the upgrade steps exactly is (always) the best bet. I was able to use the quick upgrade instructions primarily, and just checked the detailed ones twice to ensure my understanding was correct.

    But being aware that it isn’t a simple overwrite this time is the key. And, no, I haven’t noticed anything new about WP itself, yet.
