This evening I finally joined NASIG. There is also a distinct possibility that I will be attending the NASIG 22nd Annual Conference in Louisville, KY in early June. So if anyone out there is going please let me know.
I wish I had known I’d be going to this late last year when there was a possibility of getting some money to go like my friend Jenny once did. But I would have had to join at the same time I was renewing ALA and ASIST. And while NASIG is cheap for students, that was not happening. Oh well.
On another note. While my thesaural work sometimes drives me nuts, primarily due to the less-than-capable tools I have to use, any thesaurus that includes the term phrase and concept, “ferris wheel rescue,” is a pretty damn cool thesaurus, in my book!

Mark, I dropped NASIG a while back so that I could focus more on instruction stuff but it is an excellent group and an excellent conference. I highly recommend it. You should try to meet my old colleague Jill Emery, currently the vp, also Rick Anderson if he goes. NASIG was my favorite conference because they hold a 5 mile run that is somewhat competitive. What other librarian group could say that?

Wow! A run? Maybe I’ll be back in (almost) running shape by then, although I doubt if I’ll ever be back in competition shape.

Yay for NASIG! I hope you can come to Louisville. We’ll definitely need to meet up if you do.
And, I’ve been wondering if Ranger is the same Ranger I met in Minneapolis. I guess so!
Also, the run is early in the morning. Just so you know. I plan to still be in bed, if I don’t have a breakfast meeting or something equally evil.

Hi Anna, I do intend to come to Louisville. I just need to get registered now that my ? has been answered by the kind “registration man.”
If you mean ACRL Minneapolis (2005) then I imagine so. That is where I met her.
I don’t know if I’ll be in running shape or not, but perhaps in the future.
