Information Processing is a great class. Highly recommended.

Hey there, j. Nope, I didn’t think it, but I did expect it. And as for the universe I find myself living in, well, I have some fairly serious questions for somebody.

I’m basically in agreement with your last statement, but I’m trying hard not to make statements like that due to too many that have come back to haunt me over the years.

Thanks for that info, Meredith. It doesn’t make me any happier about the situation–maybe even less so–but it’s helpful to know.

I have heard wonderful and amazing things about NEASIST. I really, really like ASIST, but different people are attracted to different qualities so I won’t “sell” them to you. If you have any ?s, though, feel free to ask me or jennimi or many others, too.

Oh. Just one selling point … where else could I tag Michael Buckland with an “antelope” tag?

I’ve been a member of LITA for 2 years and have never received a “welcome to LITA” e-mail, letter or anything the entire time. You’d think they don’t want people to get involved in the organization once they pay their dues!

I’ve been thinking about joining ASIST myself, mainly because I have heard such great things about the folks in the New England chapter.

I will probably will, Jenn. I know I *need* to. I think if we’re good about doing the readings before lecture then we’ll be OK.

Don’t misunderstand me, I love Dave, but man can he string a sentence together! But he’s very accessible otherwise.

Too girly? Don’t be silly. Little dogs in purses is too … wait, that’s just inane. Nah, too girly is pretty hard with me. You must have missed the many times I’ve mentioned that I’d rather be surrounded by “estrogen positives” than “men.” Hence, librarian and not defense communication contractor.

And, yes, you should get your “own” desk. I already have one–although mine is the only one without my name on it –but since I only work there 2 days a week right now it gets used on occasion by others. But my drawers–with my snacks and AACR2, etc.–have been sacred so far.

I only meant that by working there a full 20 hours+ (24?) that there’d be less chance of anyone else using “my” desk. Not that it’s really a problem. And I might even get my name on it.

Well, now you *have* to take Foundations of Information Processing in Lib & Info Science because I think I’m taking it (although I’m a little worried about your description of trying to keep up with Dubin). We can be in the same class together! Squee! Sorry. Too girly?

And what’s this about having your own desk at work? Do I get a desk? I want a desk! Humpf.
