As I was heading out of cataloging a few minutes ago I got stopped in my tracks. I’m not one for judging a book by its cover–in fact, discussions of book cover images in academic catalogs start my blood to boil–but this one could cause me to relent just this once.
Ladies, if you want your man to take a burning interest in your knitting this book might just provide a needed spark.
Maybe I’ll have to check this out before heading for ASIS&T this fall. June, got any spare knitting needles?

“Interesting.” That’s the best you can do, Jen!!?
You really are slacking. I think you’re horrorscope was right; you are jaded lately.

There’s always this one, too…

Very nice, Jenica.
Quite Betty Page-esque with the fuller curves and ribboned pigtails.
But I gotta say she’s got nothing on that red hair which, although no one will believe me, is what really 1st grabbed my attention.
I imagine there must be others like these out there but it just wasn’t what I was expecting to see on my way out the door of cataloging. Probably just showing my ignorance but I’m in a playful mood lately.
Still being pretty quiet but for entirely different (and better) reasons.

Hmmnn… but something a PL would buy for it’s collection, unlike this:

Hee hee hee. Not my thing, but that ’tis awesome nonetheless.
And come on, Mary, in this progressive community of our’s there must be some patrons who’d want that book. I really have no idea but I imagine that the intended audience for that book is probably quite literate, progressive, and experimental.
Oh! I just read the actual description. Good Lord! You’re telling me our public libraries would have issues with this? le sigh

I’ll be happy to bring some extra needles and yarn for you
(as a founding member of SIG-Knit)
Actually that book has some great patterns for well-constructed sweaters. A lot less naughty than you might think.
To be honest, warm feet from lovingly knitted socks might be more of a turn on than knitted drawers… but alas I’m getting old

Yes, sorry Christina. Should have mentioned you, too. Especially since I know you read.
Yes, I have little doubt the cover is really probably designed for guys (or otherwise) to notice and thus buy for their knitting significant others.
I’ve got to agree on the socks versus drawers thing. But then when I think lingerie I do not think “drawers.”
Not to say I think about lingerie much; didn’t have any reason to for many years. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
And I do not want to hear about you getting old, Ms. Pikas!
Oh well, we all do, I guess.
Hope you’re well. You been kind of quiet lately, too. At least in the venue I normally see you in. Can’t wait to see you in Columbus and have you meet my “baby girl” who is getting a tad old herself.

I’ve got some posts in my head….hopefully they’ll get to my blog soon, sigh. Trouble putting two coherent sentences together.

Hey, no pressure, my friend. Just hope things are OK with you.
Going to have to take a cue from some of my friends and do a better job reaching out via other means. With you my first thought is full-time sci ref librarian and doc student = no time at all.
I fully understand the issue with stringing coherent sentences together. Hope whatever is interfering with that passes soon. Unless it is something otherwise good for you. If so, we can wait.
